Project Overview

Event Finder App

During the September 2025 Figma and Contra Make-a-thon, I explored Figma Make through two projects. Alongside the accessibility grid, I also started building a vibe-coded event finder connected to an API.

Setting up the API in Supabase took longer than expected, so I didn’t submit this project. However, I’ve continued working on it. The tool now connects to Google Events and returns up to 10 results per search. I built it to support two real use cases: I post weekly food event roundups in Los Angeles, and a friend manually curates design events in Austin. The tool lets users search by location and event type, with optional text input.

Future work:

  • Integrate additional event databases to return more results.
  • Refine the visual design. Vibe coding can be unpredictable and often overrides elements you expect it to leave untouched.

Note: This project is still in progress. Since it uses a paid API, I haven’t made it publicly available yet.
